Literacy Statistics
What happens at Literacy:
1. Assessment
Every Child gets assessed when they attend the Literacy Program for the first time and every Quarter to see the Progress.
2. Tutoring
Children are placed in groups according to their reading level and needs. A maximum of four children are in each group to ensure quality tutoring.
3. Lunch & Games
After the first block of Literacy tutoring, we take a break to eat the lunch our Teen volunteers serve. This relational mentorship component during mealtime is crucial to the Child's progress.
4. Our Library
After lunch, the children go back for another time of literacy tutoring. Before they go home, they get to pick a book from our own library that they will read at home during the week.
